CALL for a national export corporation—a central organization to -ordinate all aspects of export business id act as a focal information bureau on itish industry for foreigners—was made Mr. M. I. Prichard, managing director the Perkins Group, at the National .oductivity Year Conference at Eastmime last week.
He slated: "If this Export Corporation properly organized and staffed by men the highest calibre, with salaries comensu ate with those available in industry. en I think potential exporters in this
country will be far more likely to make their approach to overseas markets with the firm knowledge that they will be treated in a way they understand, with promptness and with a degree of continuity and confidence. This can never be achieved by the vast diversification of effort currently dissipated in Britain."
Mr. Prichard said that the organization should have Government backing and be supported by industry by a compulsory levy, allowable for tax, imposed on all organizations capable of making a contribution lo the nation's exports.
