IVE understand that Springwood VT Motors, Ltd.. Eley's Estate, Angel Road, Edmonton, London, N.18, is to start production of ,a new 6-tonner early in the new yew-.
To be known as the Proctor Diesel. it will be powered by a Perkins P6 oil engine, and the gearbox will provide five forward speeds, Servo-assisted Lockheed 'hydraulic brakes, 34-in. by 7-in. tyres, 12-volt electrical equipment, and a wheelbase of 13 ft. 8/ ins, are other leading details.
The unladen weight will be under 3 tons, and the payload 6 tons. The vehicle is to be built in the Norwich works of the company, and in the mean-. time further information can be obtained from the London address. We hope to give full technical details of the Proctor within the next two or three weeks, and we have made tentative arrangements to conduct a road test.
