by Karen Miles and Rob Wino& • A Northamptonshire haulier who took part in TransAction's protests against fuel duty increases has been arrested in connection with excise duty evasion offences relating to red diesel.

In a joint operation on Monday morning (3 August), Northamptonshire Police and Customs officers raided the premises of Tammy Cook Truck & Trailer Hire on the Laurence Leyland Industrial Estate in Wellingborough.

Director Joe Cook and his transport manager Ross Drage were arrested, and nine vehicles—six trucks and three vans—were seized after samples of diesel were taken from their fuel tanks.

The two men were later released on "delayed charge bail" until 14 September pending further inquiries.

Hours after being freed from police custody without charge Cook told CM: "I've done nothing wrong personally."
