Oo Tuesday, Mr. R. Montgomery . White, Q.C., president of the Transport Arbitration Tribunal, refused to allow the liquidators of Hauliers, Ltd., to be joined with the British Transport Commission as respondents in proceedings started by Alexander Wilcox and Co., Ltd., Liverpool.

Mr. Montgomery White said that the power to add respondents was discretionary and it was limited to adding persons appearing to be directly interested. In his judgment this power was not one that was lightly to he exercised.

It did not appear to him that the liquidators were directly interested in the subject of the originating application within the meaning of the Tribunal's rules.
