A MECHANIC KILLED an operator's son and stabbed two other family members in a revenge attack following a long-running dispute,Leeds Crown Court heard. He was on police bail at the time.

Gavin Hogg allegedly stabbed David Burrows just 24 hours after he had been convicted of assault ing BUITOWS'S father, M&B Haulage's chairman Darrell Burrows.

David's brother Craig, a manager at the Ravensthorpe, West Yorks firm, said he had seen the attack from his office.

The court heard how Hogg, who denies murder, drove into M&B Haulage's yard at 40mph and smashed into Darrell's parked Mercedes.The defendant then got out of his car and stabbed David in the back twice, puncturing his lung and stomach. David's father and his uncle, Clive Hoyland, rushed over to help but were also stabbed and were lucky to survive.

A feud over rights to land and the recent conviction were said to he the "catalyst" behind the attack in September last year.

Darrell, who set up the haulage firm 30 years agabroke down in tears as he gave evidence at the murder trial. Operations manager Michael Guy Snr said Hogg had run past him and said:"I told you I'd do it."

I Iogg claimed he had the knife with him for protection and had no memory of using it. The prosecution said Hogg was a loner with a history of psychological problems, including a personality disorder.
