• The International Union of Lorry Drivers has appealed to Governments to help drivers who are forced to keep driving past legal limits because tourists steal lorry parking spaces. The Union says that during the summer months high tourist numbers mean lorry drivers are frequently forced to drive on when they should be taking a break. A spokesman says: "The union believes the legislative authorities cannot evade their responsibility to make possible the execution of their laws." This could mean the reservation or installation of parking areas where truck drivers can comply with the obligations imposed on them.
