BLACKPOOL is generally regarded as

. an ideal centre from which to operate electric vehicles for the simple reason that owing to the flatness of the town and the excellent road services, weei and tear are not so heavy as in a town more industrially inclined. Although the electric vehicle might find a useful sphere of service when used by local tradesmen— butchers, bakers, laundrymen, ete.—it• has been almost neglected for the Ford and similar types of petrol vehicles.

Messrs. Derbyshire, bakers and confectioners, of Blackpool, however, find their fleet of Electromobile vans very useful, for they have a good load capacity and a speed and range quite sufficient for local purposes. The batteries of the vehicles are recharged overnight by the company's own plant.
