Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Following the success of its Fair Wear and Tear Guide the BVRLA has chosen Manheim Inspection Services to provide training courses on the subject. Kevin Swallow reports.

The success of the British Vehicle. Rental and Leasing Association's PairWear and Tear Guide—it sold more than 50,000 copies— has led to a series of one-day training seminars on the subject.

The courses, provided by Manheim Inspection Service, will be held at Dunton Park, Birmingham: they will be open to BVRLA affiliates and non-mernbers.The aim of the programme is to reduce or avoid charges when vehicles are de-fleeted. auditing fleets at mid and end of contract, identifying unacceptable damage and recommending cost-effective repair methods. BVRLA director-general John Lewis says: The experience Manheim has gained over the years in the de-fleet and refurbishment arena has been put to good use creating courses to suit specific training needs in fair wear and tear using the BVRLA Guide.The courses are designed in modules and target both technical and customerfocused members of the team as well as sales staff."

The courses will run on demand and more than 200 people are expected to take up the training. Manheim Inspection Services training manager Roy Snape says the official approval is a "prestigious and welcome recognition of the work which has gone into producing the training sessions".

He explains: "We are looking to provide course attendees with the knowledge and understanding behind fair wear and tear using the guidelines issued by the BVRLA with the aim of not only reducing costs, but also eliminating any need for arbitration resulting from misinterpretation."
