If there were prizes given for getting a bad press, traffic wardens would win hands down. So, just for a change, here's a heartwarming tale to tip the scales back in their favour, New mum Juliette King was on her first night out, two weeks after giving birth to baby Harry. Arriving in Bristol City Centre at lOpm she wrongly assumed that parking was free after Bpm. She returned to her car to be confronted by two traffic wardens, a man and a woman, and Informed she was in a pay-anddisplay zone and faced a £20 fine. However, they said they would let her off if she bought a £1 ticket straight away.
The only problem was Juliette had no cash and she phoned her boyfriend to explain her dilemma. On overhearing the phone call the male traffic warden took pity on this damsel in distress and gave her the quid to buy a ticket. Juliette was quite overwhelmed by this chivalrous act. "I had always thought that traffic wardens were hardhearted but this one proved me wrong," she says.
