Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

OVERNOR for an injection pump i shown in patent No. 895.612.

✓ ng on the centrifugal principle, the er or is claimed to be accurate and ;it ve. (Precision Mechanique Labinal, r e de Clichy, Saint-Ouen (Seine), n c.) "h drive-shaft (I) carries a disc (2)

▪ is slotted so as to compel a a r of balls to travel round with it.

o rating with the balls is a conical

✓ (3); this, though free to slide, is re ted from turning by an anchor-pin his is an optional feature: the cone

may alternatively be permitted to turn on its ball-bearing.

In operation, the outward thrust of the balls forces the cone towards the right, and works the rack-rod (5) of the pump via a lever (6). At idling speeds, the rackrod spring (7) is the only one reacting on the cone, but as the speed rises. another spring (8) begins to come into action, thus balancing to some extent the square-law of centrifugal force. The extra spring is actually in two parts, separated by a washer (9) to prevent surging.
