• Two new guides to the leasing industry have been published, offering managers a breakdown of the industry from UK and European perspectives.

• BSI has published a guide to a new British Standard for calculating the reliability of systems and components.

BS5760 is a standard method of developing block diagrams to evaluate the reliability of anything from a simple component to a complex industrial process or, for example, the operation of a workshop or a fleet.

The guide explains the essential preliminary facts that must be established and gives a step-by-step prodedure for developing block diagrams, and then using the diagrams to calculate the reliability of the system.
