• Nissan Motor will launch its all-new Cabstar 3.3-tonner in the spring of 1993.
The stylish new chassis-cab looks rather like the Mitsubishi Canter sold in small numbers in the UK during the late 1980s, and Nissan says the new model will follow the same theme with a chassis-cab and a dropside version. The dropside body can be used for tipper conversions and a tilt cab is likely.
The Cabstar retains the 2.5litre diesel engine used in the Urvan panel van; it develops 59kW (80hp) at 4,300rpm with 163Nm (1201bft) at 2,200rpm.
