FURTHER evidence of the National Freight Consortium's growing activity in the contract hire market has come from BRS Western and BRS Southern.

Six Mercedes-Benz 1625S tractive units and nine 10m tandem-axle semi-trailers are now at work from BRS Western's Gloucester branch on the recently won Bang and Olufsen hi-fi and television delivery contract. The trailers have air suspension and low-profile tyres to ensure safe transit.

BRS Southern has provided three replacement vehicles, two Ford Transits and a Ford Cargo, for its contract with printing industry specialist Sericol, of North London.
