• With the opening of the Aston Expressway, due within two months, Midland Red plans to cut the journey time of its Birmingham-London motorway express service by 40 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes. There will also be extra coaches in the morning and evening periods. Route will be from Digbeth via the expressway to Salford Bridge to the M6 and then south to join Ml.
An experimental Dudley-London m-way service, a 70-minute Birmingham-Leicester journey, improvements to the CoventryBirmingham-Glasgow overnight express and a new day service on M6 to Glasgow are Midland Red projects for the near future.
