Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TWO FAMILIAR FACES

One of the first people CM bumped into was Mike Penning, self-confessed petrol head and transport minister, whose portfolio extends to motor sport. The MP was brought to the event by Road Haulage Association chief executive Geoff Dunning. Both men (pictured left, not in red) were enjoying the sunshine when we stopped for a chat. “The FIA requested a racing truck for the CV Show,” the pair told us, which sparked their enthusiasm for the sport.

Penning echoed the comments of Renault sales director Nigel Butler, who, during the press conference, pointed to the fact that motor sport has long been a testbed for tomorrow’s technology.

“We’ve got a fantastic history of motor sport in this country. I’m working on the deregulation of racing on public roads. I would have to pass an Act of Parliament to hold a road race in mainland UK. I’d like to see a system akin to what they’ve always had in Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man, where local government can approve something like that with the bare minimum of red tape,” Penning said.
