Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

GORDON CARLTON, who drives for quarry operator Patersons in Strathclyde, was on last week's Grangemouth protest against the WTD and fuel prices. He says: "I got to the protest area at 8.15am. There were only about 20 people there at first with just under two hours before it kicked off. But at least the sun was shining.

"However, by 11.30am our numbers had swelled to about 250 people. What was even more heartening was the presence of the media. Radio and TV reporters interviewed many of us to fmd out why we were doing this. There were N1Ps here too, though Labourand Green parties were absent.

"There was a lot of public support too. Car drivers sounded their horns and waved to us; there was a genuine feeling of positiveness about what we were doing. Some of us turned up in trucks, but they were left in the car park.

"There were no blockades and everyone was sensible but then there were as many police there as there were protesters! By lprn we had done what we set out to do.We felt we got our message about the WTD, and fuel prices, out to the public. Hopefully they will realise they will be forced to pay in the end."

"Listening to other drivers there will be more direct action if nothing comes of this. And I will be 100% behind them.
