• Lancashire-based Coachwork Conversions and the B Walker group of Markyate and Stockport, both bodybuilders, are to merge. The company will trade as CoachworkWalker from August.
Under what is described as a "very amicable agreement" Coachwork Conversions has acquired Walker's bodywork, Truckman pickup products, welfare and minibus conversion interests together with its sheet-metal engineering subsidiary, Metalcraft.
Coachwork Conversions managing director John Muschamp will head the new firm. He will be joined on the board by his brother Michael and Walker group managing director Chris Praat.
A rationalisation programme will result in the transfer of production from Walker's Stockport factory to Coble.
