Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Renault Truck Industries has decided to add three new 38-tonne tractive units to its right-hand drive R-range, premium artic line-up within the next six months. The first will be a 6x2 twin-steer version of its 247kW (331bhp) R340 Turboliner flagship which will make its UK debut at this month's IRTE show in Solihull.

The French-built R340 has been available in Britain as a 4x2 since October 1986 and is currently the most powerful tractive unit offered by RTI in the UK.

Fully built-up, two-axle R340 models will be shipped to the UK and fitted with a second steering axle by York Transport Engineering of Corby in Northamptonshire.

RTI, however, will market the 6x2 R340 as its own complete product with full normal factory warranties. York previously carried out twin-steer conversions on the G-range for the manufacturer.

The 6x2 R340 Turboliner will have the same 12-litre charge-cooled Renault MIDR 06.35.40G engine as its 4 x 2 counterpart. The six-cylinder in-line engine develops 1,520Nm (1,1211bft) of torque at 1,200rpm and is coupled to a Renault 18-speed synchromesh range-change splitter gearbox. (Full details of the twin steer R340 will appear in Commercial Motor's IRTE show report, 1926 May.) As well as the 6x2 R340, RTI has also decided to bring in a twin-steer version of the lower-powered 224kW (300bhp) R310, which will again be converted by York Transport Engineering. The R310 twin-steer will also be at the IRTE show.

The third new model to join the right-hand-drive R-range will be the recently-launched R365 4 x2 Turboliner tractive unit which is scheduled to make its first appearance at the Motor Show in October.

The R365 tractive unit has the uprated Renault 12-litre A 6x2 twin steer version of the R340 Turboliner will break cover at the IRTE show in Solihull later this month.

charge-cooled MIDR 06.35.4011 engine developing 268kW (359bhp) which will make it the most powerful Rrange tractor in the UK and taking Renault above the 261kW (350bhp) mark for the first time in Britain.
