• Seddon Atkinson has followed ERF's example by producing a factory-built 17-tonne dropframe rigid chassis and it is already building an order of 10 for Showerings.
The standard 2-11 chassis is proving to be a popular vehicle with sales increasing well above the general rise of the market, says Seddon.
Later this year, the company plans to sell left-hand-drive versions of the 2-11 into Europe through its parent company Pegaso, via Spain, France and the Benelux countries. Up to 500 LHD 2-11's could be sold in the first year.
The 2-11 left-hookers will be the first exports into Europe by the Oldham-based manufacturer for many years.

£35 million development project between Pegaso and Daf, will be introduced in August on Seddon Atkinson's long-awaited new Strato heavy truck range.
A new chassis will include a familiar Cummins/Perkins and Fuller driveline. The cab will initially be supplied ready-built, releasing manpower at Oldham to further increase production rates, which have risen in the last year from seven up to 12 trucks per day.
