Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

November 7 1972 and I have been driving hgv for 10 years. When will I need to apply for an hgv licence, and on what date will I need to have my medical examination?

You should not apply for your hgv driving licence more than two months before the date on which you want the licence to run and not more than six months before your current ordinary driving licence expires. In other words, if you require your licence to start from the date of your renewed ordinary licence you should send in your application about the middle of September this year.

The medical examination must be carried out no more than three months before the date from which your licence is to run. So if you intend submitting your application in mid-September the medical will need to be carried out between August 8 1972 and the time of sending the application.
