• No change in the policy of subsidizing rural bus services is foreseen as a result of British entry into Europe, said Mr Eldon Griffiths, Under-Secretary DoE, in the Commons last week.
He added that he knew of 75 authorities in England, 22 in Scotland and 20 in Wales which had entered into agreements regarding the subsidizing of rural bus services.
