• The row over the Dundee Transport department's huge loss (CM last week) — expected to reach £353,000 in the current year — was again the subject of bitter exchanges at a special meeting of the Corporation last week A report on the financial position had been called for from officials. This suggested the fare structure be amended to raise the 2p fare to 3p and intervening fares by lp and a long distance fare from 5-fp to 7p.
On a Labour amendment it was agreed to discuss this report at a sub-committee. A Progressive motion to reject the report and discuss a secret one prepared by their group was defeated.
