TRUCK OPERATORS have failed to cut their carbon footprints with any degree of urgency, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) has warned.

Its report — An Inconvenient Truck? The CILT Guide to CO2 Emissions from Freight—says more needs to be done to reduce tailpipe pollution, cut lorry mileage and shift freight to other modes.

CILT chief executive Steve Agg says: "Despite substantial progress by many fleets, our report has concluded that even more could and should have been achieved.
