NATIONAL BUS COMPAIN subsidiaries East Kent and Mai stone and District are to be rec ganised into four separate cor panies this summer.
East Kent, which will be ma aged by a general manag( operating manager and fleet e gineer, will operate 311 buses its present operating area.
Maidstone and District w have a separate, similar structured management tea and a new head office in ti Medway area. It runs 316 busef.
Bus services in the Hastinâ– area of East Sussex will be by a new operating compan Hastings and District, which w be run by a manager responsib to the National Bus Company r gional director.
Major maintenance an overhaul work for all three car panies will be undertaken by ti fourth company, Kent Eng neering (NBC) Ltd, of Cante bury, which is expected to t run as a commercial venture ar may well carry out work for no NBC operators.
