Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LAST Tuesday, a demonstration was held of an L.P.T.I3. bus equipped to run on producer gas. It is the forerunner of a fleet of 20 that will be operated shortly from an Eastern base in the Board's area. This step was psompted by a recent request from the Ministry of War Transport.

It is expected that the first bus will be running in a fortnight. Gas is supplied by a. trailer unit of the G.E.P. plant modified according to the Tilling system, and the chassis is an A.E.C. carrying a 48-seater double-deck body.

It will be remembered that London Transport conducted experiments with producer gas early in the war, and now that the need for conserving petrol is becoming more acute, it is making use of the . experience then gained, and which has since been amplified. •It is satisfied that buses of the type demonstrated can be operated with success over reasonably level routes.
