HOYLE, who at 83 years of age was probably Britain's oldest official of a road-transport association, has retired from the secretaryship of the Halifax Transport Owners' Association after 23 years' service in that capacity. At the recent annual meeting high appreciation of Mr. Hoyle's work for the Association was voiced. Ma. A. H. TAYLOR, a member of the firm of accountants with which Mr. Hoyle is associated, was appointed to succeed him as secretary. Council.LOR WILSON HAIGH was re-elected president, and the following were re-elected vice-presidents:—CouNCILLOR CHARLES HOLDSWORTH, MESSRS. T. E. SHORT, H. H. BEAUMONT and W. ROBINSON.
