XBG Fleet has launched an eBay-style auction site for vans in a partnership with online remarketing company Autorola

Words: Kevin Swallow HAMPSHIRE-BASED used CV sales company XBG Fleet has joined forces with online remarketing business Autorola to auction vans eBay-style.

XBG director Dave Woods says used van sales will run weekly, allowing buyers to buy ex-fleet LCV stock from vendors like National Grid and Wales and West Utilities.

“Our partnership with Autorola allows us to offer stock 24/7. If someone wants to source a vehicle out of normal business hours or at weekends, we have now got this covered,” he says.

Although it will take some volume away from physical auctions, Woods believes online is a positive thing – especially when a large fleet operator offloads 100 identical vans simultaneously. “Spreading the volume should mean we see better prices and will open up stock to new buyers,” he says.

“We aim to be very open with the condition of the vehicle to extend our excellent reputation in the LCV market to online buyers,” he adds. ■
