Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WE ARE delighted that the government has cancelled the fuel duty hike for August (‘FairFuelUK victory as Osborne freezes duty,’ CM 28 June). It’s a difficult time for the transport industry and it’s nice to see that some government lobbying can work.

Over 70% of what our transport division, AK Worthington Transport, delivers ends up in a supermarket, so rising fuel costs have a direct effect on the public’s weekly shopping costs. If fuel costs can be stabilised or come down, it will help all industries and all household budgets.

It also closes the gap (a little) on the unfair advantage that foreign truck operators have over UKbased transport providers.
