On Sunday 24 June, The Sun stated that MPs in the House of Commons can get “rib-eye steak with hand-cut chips and bearnaise sauce for under £2” (page 8).
It added that this is normally £7.80, but with a taxpayers’ subsidy it reduces the price by £5.92. So for all you hungry truckers in London, for less than a motorway service area cup of coffee, you can have all this! Yes, the parking may be a problem – but it’s the same in any service area. This may be the reason why fuel is so expensive – it’s helping the poor, hungry MPs to eat a good meal! The long way round trucker
