Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The largest single export order ever received by ERF has been placed by the Jordan Phosphate Mines Co. Ltd. and is valued in excess of £100,000. It was obtained in conjunction with Jordan Resources Ltd., of Amman, the ERF distributor, who in turn obtained the haulage contract issued by the Mines company.

Comprising a total of 50 tractor /trailer units, this order when added to ERF export sales over the last three months gives a figure approaching £1,250,000.

The complete design of the tractor /trailer unit has been evolved from personal observations and investigations of operating conditions, by executives who have made eight visits to Amman.

It is expected that each vehicle will annually cover over 150,000 miles and will carry 20,000 tons of phosphate, totalling approximately one million tons of phosphate per year for the fleet. The vehicles will be used 24 hours a day, six days a week, operating a driver shift system.

All 50 vehicles will be three-axle tractive units powered by 220 bhp Rolls-Royce Eagle diesel engines through 15-speed gearboxes, with super-heavy-duty double-drive rear bogies. ERF "Fail-Safe" braking systems will be fitted and the cabs will be fully tropicalized.

Supplied with the units will be bottom dump semi-trailers with twin-axle rear bogies each capable of carrying a payload of 30/33 tons capacity. The whole trailer and body will be manufactured by King Truck Equipment Ltd. of Market Harborough.
