Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

coach licensed as a "private vehicle" was subject to annual "private car" MoT tests after three years. But I was under the impression that this type of test did not apply to vehicles exceeding 30cwt unladen. Which is correct?

AThe Motor Vehicles (Tests) Regulations 1960 No. 1083 which introduced car tests laid down in Regulation 3 that such tests did not apply to a goods vehicle the unladen weight of which exceeds 30cwt: a public service vehicle adapted to carry eight or more passengers, etc. Since a coach licensed privately (and therefore not a p.s.v.) is obviously not a goods vehicle regardless of its unladen weight, it is therefore not exempted by either of these provisions and is so subject to a "car" test.

We understand that even London Transport double-deckers used for training drivers are privately licensed and accordingly undergo -cartests.
