LOCAL bus services could lot taken over by "cowboy' operators, a Scottish But Group official has warned.
David Rae, traffic manager o Western Scottish, has urged thi Clyde Coast Transport Forun to study the Government pro posals for greater competitior in public services.
Mr Rae told the forum, whicl brings together all the transpor authorities, that licences for bu runs should be scrappei creating a free-for-all.
He claimed there would be
danger of local full-tim, operators being put out of busi ness by unfair competitioi from "cowboys" who woul, cream off profitable runs E peak times.
