John Dornan, Bearsden traffic superintendent for W. Alexander and Sons Ltd. is to become assistant traffic manager at the Falkirk head office.

George McLaren, ticket inspector for Arbroath district of W. Alexander and Sons (Northern) Ltd., has been appointed district traffic superintendent at Montrose.

Ian Watson has been appointed technical representative for Cray Valley Products Ltd. F. A. J. Woodworth has been appointed general manager, South Wales Transport Co. Ltd., in succession to J. H. Gilbert, who has been appointed general manager, East Kent Road Car Co. Ltd. Since 1963 Mr. Woodworth has been general manager, Hebble Motor Services Ltd.

Peter Sargent, 44, has been appointed service director of Rootes Motors Ltd.

Dennis Rodgers, 41, traffic and administrative officer for the Borough of Walsall Transport Department, has been appointed traffic manager for Lancashire United Transport Ltd. Mr. Rodgers is expected to take up his duties on February 5 1968.

Robert Stewart, chief schedules officer, Northern General Transport Co. Ltd., Gateshead, has been appointed traffic superintendent with Doncaster Corporation transport department.

Ernest Brown has been appointed secretary of the Northern division of the Traders Road Transport Association, with effect from February I. Mr. Brown succeeds Martin Richards, who has been appointed secretary of the Association's East Midland division.

Richard L. J. Wills has been appointed British Transport Docks Board vice-chairman in succession to Sir Andrew Crichton who has asked to be released because of other commitments. D. R. Martin-Jenkins has been appointed a part-time member of the Board.

T. H. Bladon has joined W. H. A. Reece Ltd., the West Country carrier, as manager of its Pucklechurch, Bristol branch. He was for many years with A. Packham and Co Ltd.

B. J. Moss, 39, has been appointed South Suburban Co-operative Society transport manager. For the past 10 years Mr. Moss has held a post in Kuala Lumpur, Malaya.

OBITUARY

We record with regret the deaths of Mr. L. G. Smith, Mr. F. H. Paul and Mr. W. Taylor.

Mr. Smith, 82, of Bailiffe Bridge, near Brighouse, Yorks, was formerly manager of Crowtrees Motor Co. Ltd., of Brighouse, and a former works manager with Thornton Engineering Co. Ltd., of Bradford.

Mr. Paul, 80, of Solihull, Warwicks, until his retirement in 1954 was for 20 years certifying officer in the West Midland Traffic Area.

Mr. William Taylor, 71, of Heath Charnoek, Lancs, a retired haulage contractor, died at his home.
