Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

SINCE 1923, David Brown .and Sons (Huddersfield)„ Ltd., Huddersfield, has been producing a range of reduction gearboxes sold under the trade name of Radicon. In response to a demand for a unit smaller than was catered for in the standard range, the company has now produced a model suitable for transmitting up to about 21 h.p.

This new unit is known as the 21 Radicon Worm Reducer and is available in a comprehensive range of ratios, of which six are available from stock. Some of the exclusive features of this gear arc the hardened and ground worm gears with the David Brown patent thread,. and " Taurus" bronze centrifugally cast worm-wheel rims.

A26 The shafts are carried on ball bearings, the capacity of which is sufficient to deal with overhung loads as normally experienced. Lubrication has been carefully studied and is carried out through the medium of an oil bath, with positive circulation to the low speed bearings. Leakage along the worm sha4t is effectively prevented by a suitable oil seal, and a sight oil-level indicator is built into the end cover, as can be seen in the accompanying illustration.

The weight of the completely assembled unit is 27 lb.
