Petition backs lorry park solution to A14 Stack

A PETITION HAS been set up for lorry drivers and transport operators supporting the use of Orwell Crossing Lorry Park during Operation Stack on the A14.

Suffolk councils and the county police force are currently searching for a permanent solution to the parking and congestion headache that occurs when Felixstowe Port is forced to close in poor weather.

Suffolk County Council has already unwittingly revealed it is looking at land outside Felixstowe very close to thousands of residents (Stray e-mail reveals alternative to Stack', CM 18 December).

Lorry park boss Karl Rout is offering his 15-acre site for lorries, but was unavailable as we went to press,
