instructor crush ruled an accident

A CORONER in Northampton last week recorded a verdict of accidental death on an HGV instructor who died after being crushed between two trucks.

Alan Underwood, of Clinton Road, Far Cotton, Northampton, was teaching a student how to perform emergency stops when the accident happened at the Crick Truckstop last March.

The instructor was standing in front of the truck being driven by the student and when it failed to stop he was trapped between it and another truck. After the accident an ambulance was called but Underwood later died at Coventry University Hospital.
