A PERTH COMPANY had its lice curtailed by Scottish Licensing week.

I. & H. Brown Plant will now have a licence for 30 vehicles and 10 trailers which will leave it a margin of one vehicle because

it operates 29 vehicles.

During the period from 1979 to August year the company collected six prohibitions, some of which were immediate, and from August to September it collected another eight.

Roy McKenzie, of Kirkcaldy, who appeared for the company, said the reason for the "purple patch" in that month was that two people had been dismissed and the responsibility of servicing and inspections of vehicles passed to the transport manager who had become overloaded with work.

The company took immediate steps to rectify the situation.

Mr McNamara said he felt some action had to be taken since the company had appeared at two other public inquiries in the last six years. "The curtailment is marginal so you still have enough licences to run all your vehicles but the curtailment will act as an 'expression of displeasure' by the LA," he said.
