• A spokesman for London Transport confirmed on Monday that the Executive is making intensive investigations into possible , new systems of fare collection, which include the use of prepurchased tokens similar to those to be introduced in north-west England.
Also under consideration are multijourney tickets and some form of season ticket, the latter to meet complaints from passenger action committees concerned about the increased cost incurred by members of the public who now have to travel on more than one bus owing to the changing pattern of bus services.
