• A Shell-Mex and BP Ltd driver, Mr W. H. Payne, of Newport, Monmouthshire, was awarded £10,500 damages in the Queen's Bench division at Cardiff last week. On August 23 1965, Mr Payne sustained injuries to his leg when he fell from a tanker at the Orb Works of the Steel Company of Wales. It was claimed that as a result ofthe injury the driver would be unable to follow his normal employment arid that his earning capacity would be substantially reduced.

In making the judgment, the Special Commissioner. Mr Norman Richards, granted a 28-day stay of execution.
