portable 12V battery tester as been introduced by Electric 'ower Storage Ltd. It is mainly ltended for use on the garage Necourt as a means of deciding thether starting trouble is due 3 a weak battery or to some ther fault. It is a go-no-go ester and indicates battery ailure rather than impending allure. It enables the vehicle river to see for himself whether le battery is in good condition. The tester has a voltage ensitive device connected cross a load resistance and is "suspect." On applying the tester to a healthy battery a current of 120amp passes through the coil and the heat generated is dissipated to a small motor-driven fan which is incorporated in a tough glass-fibre-reinforced housing.
