BELIEF that the unions will press for LP the recent 4s, pay award to municipal bus workers to be brought into line with the 7s. 4d. awarded to craftsmen has been expressed by Mr. J. Crawford, general manager of South Shields Transport Department.
The transport committee are recommending that odd fares between 214 and 611d. be increased by id., and that 4d.-and 5d. workmen's fares be raised by Id. If approved, these increases will bring in another £13,500 a year.
