Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

It is our pleasure, in the pages that follow, to endeavourto present to our readers, in as concise a form as possible, a review of the most interesting features that can be seen at the Third North of England Industrial Vehicle Exhibition, which, at the time of publication, is in progress at the City Hall, Manchester. We have as is our usual custom, paid visits to all the stands, and have inspected with care the complete vehicles, tbe chassis, the tires, and the accessories which are staged.

Our notes, compiled as a result of these personal inquiries and inspections, and taken in conjunction with the unique range of photographs secured by our own operators in the Exhibition Hall, should primarily, as they are intended, serve to assist those of our readers who have a visit to the Exhibition in their week's programme, and should, moreover, form an adequate substitute for those who find themselves unable to visit the Lancashire city during the run of the present Show.

There is a notable paucity of new models, which is no doubt attributable to the proximity of the recent great Exhibition at Olympia. That is not to say, however, that there are no fresh designs. Of the few that are staged, mention is made in proper place in the course of the pages which follow ; we also include sketches.

. PcrInips the most noticeable departure in respect of the collection of exhibits is the remarkable increase in the number of steam wagons. Last year we may recall that there were only four machines of this class shown. Realizing the exceptional facilities for the cartage of heavy loads under strenuous conditions which are available for users of steam wagons, manufacturers of that class of plant have not been slow to grasp the opportunity which the Manchester Show affords to them to bring their latest productions to the notice of Lancashire and Yorkshire users. This year 13 steam wagons find place in the City Hall. There are 30 complete petroldriven vehicles on show, and 27 petrol-propelled chassis. Of chars-h-banes 15 are shown. Leyland and Dennis are the only two fire-engine exhibitors, and there is one Austin ambulance. One tractor is staged.
