Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Within the text reference is made to a spokeswoman for the Department of Transport saying: "The focus will be on removing damaged vehicles and debris more quickly after accidents."

Today's professional recovery operator has invested heavily to acquire the latest vehicles, equipment and training necessary to provide a faster, more efficient and safer service for the community. Recovery of a damaged vehicle and its load are rarely the reasons for long closures of roads and motorways: this situation normally occurs due to the gathering of evidence by the police at the scene of an incident. Maybe these procedures need to be examined.

The recent survey conducted by the Freight Transport Association suggests a "swift and robust clearance of damaged vehicles" and their loads. In a minonty of situations where this action could apply, who is going to make the decision 24/7? "Swift and robust" clearance instantly suggests additional damage. Who takes the responsibility when the insurance companies ask questions? What will be the effect on already high insurance premiums?

Professional recovery operators are not prepared to be made scapegoats by those in authority that cannot take the time to find out. or prefer to remain ignorant, of the real reasons for the roads being in such a mess.

If it were not for the emergency services provided by our members the traffic would be at a standstill for most of the time.
