Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

If you wish to dispute the result of an annual test or a roadside inspection you should first raise the matter with your local VI test station manager, stating the reason for your dissatisfaction and any relevant details. It is also advisable to provide copies of all correspondence to your Traffic Commissioner.

If this does not resolve the matter it may be passed on a regional Vi manager for review.

If this still does not resolve the dispute It could go before the complaints department at the VI's head office at Bristol where a final adjudication will be made.

However following a recent complaint to the Parliamentary Ombudsman the VI accepted that its appeal procedure was not 100% perfect and that steps would be taken to improve it..
