THE FIRST of three Alder Valley Leyland Nationals, specially adapted to carry wheelchairs, was unveiled in London this week by National Bus chief executive Robert Brook and boxer Alan Minter.

The buses have had four seats removed from either side, and are fitted with clamps to hold wheelchairs. They also have detachable ramps. They meet Department of Transport requirements, and are suitable for normal service.
