A new London-Malta container service is to be launched by international freight forwarders, Transflash Groupage Ltd. The service begins on September 1 and will offer a transit time of between seven and eight days.

CROMPTON Electricars Ltd, of Tredegar, Gwent, a Hawker Siddeley company, has opened a new sales and service centre at Farnborough, Hants, to serve the sales and service needs of industrial, dairy and municipal customers in the London and South East Counties region.
Ferrymasters expand
FERRYMASTERS, a member of P&O Unit Loads, is to open a new office in Stockholm. The company also plans to expand its Gothenburg freight centre, opened in 1975, which now operates close to full capacity.
Log books
AFTER full consultation with the DoE, a new driver's record book has been introduced by Tollit and Harvey Ltd, King's Lynn. The new book has 30 daily sheets and 15 weekly sheets and is suitable for fulltime and part-time drivers who drive for as few as two days a week. It costs '74p plus VAT.

FTA conference
The importance of freight transport in an industrial society will be the theme of the 1977 Freight Transport Association National Conference at Eastbourne's Grand Hotel from September 28 to October 1. Attendance is restricted to PTA's 14,600 member companies.
