TRUCK-DRIVING son of boss of one of Birmingham's ;gest skip-hire firms, who ran :after police caught him driving :ruck while disqualified, has en imprisoned.

Kevin Fox, of Highters Heath ne, Birmingham, was jailed for ree months by the Solihull igistrates after admitting to _ving while disqualified, having insurance and failing to use a hograph.

Ile was also disqualified for a -ther two years.

Vlagistrates were told that when lice stopped Fox, he was driving e of Mercian Skip Hire's trucks Birmingham, despite being ;qualified for 20 months by rmingham magistrates for a )toring offence. As the truck stopped, Fox leapt from the cab and ran off, but he was later caught and charged. the court heard.

Mike Mahoney. defending, told the magistrates that Fox was employed by his fatheriames Fox,who runs Mercian Skip Hire, one of the biggest firms of its kind in Birmingham.

He said that after Fox was disqualified from driving his father found him work doing odd jobs.

With eight months of his driving ban still to serve. Fox was being carried as a passenger with one of the company's drivers in a truck on company business when a dispute developed between them. The driver stopped the vehicle and walked off.

-The defendant made the wrong decision by deciding to drive the vehicle despite being disqualified," Mahoney said He urged the magistrates to give Fox another chance with a suspended prison sentence.

Howe ver,one of the magistrates said: "This was a serious offence and we are imposing a threemonth prison sentence."
