Judge Mark Brown described the Pingwood Slashers' operation as "dishonest, well-organised, wellplanned and carefully executed". He added: 'It has to be said that the safe transport of consumer goods up and down the motorway network is vital to the welfare of business in this country."

All seven men pleaded guilty to conspiracy to steal.
