Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A third, lifting axle fitted by Andover Trailers is now available as an option on Seddon Allen Municipal refuse collection vehicles.

On the SAM vehicles, the additional axle gives an increase of up to three tonnes in payload, but the main purpose is to bring the rear axle load within legal limits. Load problems can be caused either by the density of the payload or by the fitting of half-tonne bin hoists on the back of the vehicle.

Tyre wear is reduced with the lifting axle and vehicle excise duty falls from over 21,000 to £660.

Granning air suspension is used.
