• A magnificent new coach showroom, pictured here, was opened on Tuesday in Ashby Road Central, Shepshed (near Loughborough) by Alf Moseley and Sons Ltd. An exhibition, attended by operators from all over the country, remains open until 6.30 p.m. on Saturday. As well as the striking display of new coaches, secondhand vehicles are shown and vintage Albion and Daimler coaches add nostalgic interest.
The new buildings also contain coachworks, stores and a machine shop; they cover 34,000 sq.ft. on a 4+-acre site and can accommodate double-deckers. The coachworks has working bays for 20 vehicles, with fully equipped inspection pits; the showroom can display 20 large luxury coaches with room to spare.
